The osteo difference
Why choose an osteopath
Osteopathy, physiotherapy, and chiropractic are all forms of manual therapy that aim to improve health and well-being. However, each approach has its own unique set of techniques and philosophies.
Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual therapy that focuses on treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
While physiotherapy moves away from hands-on treatment modalities, osteopathic treatment uses a range of gentle, non-invasive manual therapy techniques along with targeted exercise prescription to address imbalances in the body and promote optimal health and function.
Unlike many chiropractors who insist on weekly adjustments forever, an osteopath strives to provide you with the skills to self-manage and stay healthy with less frequent, more holistic treatment and rehabilitation intervention.
Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and can be used to treat a wide range of health issues, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, and more.
By treating the whole person and addressing the root cause of problems, osteopathy can provide long-term relief and improved health and well-being.

Our process
The osteopathy process
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body has the ability to heal itself.
The role of the osteopath is to identify and address any structural imbalances or dysfunctions that may be hindering the body's natural healing process.
Make a booking
First book an initial consultation. You can do this through our online booking form, or if you like give us a call first to chat.
Initial consultation
These take 45-60 minutes and include a physical assessment, injury history and plenty of osteopathic treatment, massage, needling (optional), manipulation and more.
Customised treatment plan
Based on this assessment, the osteopath will develop a plan to address your specific needs.
The treatment may include a range of techniques such as manual therapy, stretching, dry needling, cupping therapy, and exercise prescription, or small group osteopathic exercise classes.
Ongoing treatment
Depending on your condition, you may need to see your osteopath a few times, especially in the acute phase.
As you progress however our goal is to make you independent, with less frequent consultations as your condition recovers.
Osteopathic exercise
A key accompaniment to your osteopathic treatment will be the use of strengthening and mobility exercises.
Many of these can be done from home with minimal equipment, but you may also find our small group classes helpful to keep you strong and functional.
